Introduction to Pet Health and Wellness
So you're probably wondering what in the world I mean by pet health and wellness. Basically I started this blog to help pet owners provide the best in nutrition, exercise and maybe even some holistic methods to ensure their pets live rich, full lives. Most of us try to take better care of our pets than we do ourselves, I'm guilty of that! My horse, Harley, is a very "easy-keeper" meaning that it doesn't take much for him to gain some extra pounds, just like his mother (me) ;) However, I am more concerned with him losing weight and keeping fit than I am about keeping myself fit and at a healthy weight. That being said, I have noticed in the years that I've started my pet care business that some of our furry loved ones have some extra pounds to lose. How many of us are guilty of succumbing to those "puppy" eyes at the table? How many of us are more inclined to lounge on the couch with our pets than take them for a walk, or throw the ball for them, etc.? I'm not trying to make you feel guilty, I want to get pet owners thinking about how those little bits of table scraps can add up to unhealthy pounds on our pets and how a lack of exercise can lead to unhealthy and misbehaved pets. I don't have all the answers. As I learn, I will share with you what I have learned and hope it will aid pet owners in gaining healthy happy pets. I welcome you on this journey of finding pet health and wellness! (*Disclaimer: before starting any new diet or exercise routine with your pet, please consult with your vet first)
